Lamorinda Wine Society is a local blog and informational website about our special community, good wines, and local activities. Please read below about its founders.
My name is Gabriel Froymovich, and I do most of the research and writing for this site. I am a resident of Lafayette and work in marketing for home health care to pay the bills. I make wine for myself and worked as an Associate Winemaker, a.k.a. “cellar rat”, at Stuhlmuller Vineyards in the Alexander Valley. I have been making wine and spirits since I was 15 years old. I also used to part-time in the tasting room at Fritz Winery in the Dry Creek Valley and have sold wine (and cheese) in a retail setting at Farmstead Cheeses and Wines. I am currently studying wine-making at the University of California at Davis and have studied wine component tasting at the Santa Rosa Junior College and worldwide wine knowledge, wine service and blind tasting with the International Court of Master Sommeliers. I am a member of the International Guild of Sommeliers and the American Wine Society. I studied at Goucher College and graduated with a degree in English. I am also running for Lafayette City Council. If you were looking for my campaign site, it is http://froymovich.wordpress.com. Predictably, I love travel, food, wine and spirits.
David Weidberg is the designer, ideas and business end of this project. He currently works at Macy’s as a financial analyst, specializing in Energy. In his free time he cycles, gardens and maintains his worm farm. David looks forward to one day when he can leave the grid using renewables, an organic garden and resuables to do his part in reducing our carbon footprint.
